PlaceThe Media Challenge video production workshop program will be held at Christ’s Church of the Valley, located at 7007 West Happy Valley Road, Peoria, AZ 85383. (See www.ccvonline.com for directions to the church.)
TimeThe workshops will begin at 8:30 am each morning and go until 5:00 pm. One evening session will be held to coincide with the rehearsal schedule of the church’s Worship Team so that workshop participants can experience a ‘hands-on’ demonstration of the video production facilities at the church.
Closing ProgramAt the close of the workshop program, all of the final video projects produced during the week will be shown in a Premiere Presentation scheduled for Friday at 5:00 pm at the church. Parents, family and friends are invited to attend and enjoy the show!
ParticipantsThe workshop program is open to all students in high school (graduating Seniors are accepted) with preference given to those who have prior creative and/or technical experience in media, music, photography, art, theatre or other forms of communication. MaterialsAll workshop materials and equipment will be provided as part of the registration fee and also includes the lunch meal each day. Each participant will also receive a Media Challenge t-shirt.
CostThe cost for the week of workshops is $60, Once applicants have been accepted into the program, further information on deposits and payments will be forwarded and final payment will be due in advance of the workshop program.
Application ProcessThe application form and instructions can be completed online or the form can be downloaded, completed and returned to the mailing address provided. Whether you apply online or by mail, all applicants are encouraged to submit samples of their creative work, although it is not a requirement for applying. The application deadline for early enrollment is May 1st. After that date, applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until all workshop spaces are filled. Overall, the final screening process will consider the date applications and/or nominations are received, as well as an evaluation of any nominations and/or recommendations and the quality of sample materials provided.
NominationsYouth leaders, sponsors and/or ministers are encouraged to nominate youth to the program who excel in creativity and a desire to reach their peers. Once nominated, application materials will be sent out to the nominee for submission by the application deadline. The deadline for nominations by youth leaders is April 1st. Nominated teens will receive priority consideration during the selection process.
